Need help identifying insects?

Need help identifying a few insects, the first is a moth that I found in a cocoon and waited for it to metamorphose.

Cocoon:

Moth Larva

Adult:

DSCN0905

DSCN0897

DSCN0906

The next is carabid of some sort I think:

DSCN0863

Next, a type of rove beetle. Originally thought it was a Devil’s Coach Horse beetle but it’s coloration is different:

DSCN0853

DSCN0851

And finally a bumble bee:

Bumblebee

Bumblebee

All of these insects were found in Amherst, Massachusetts in late April/early May of this year.
Thanks in advance!
Head to rear end approximate lengths:
Moth Adult: 2 cm
Carabid: 1.5 cm
Rove Beetle: 2 cm
Bumble bee: 3 cm

Do you know what they could be?

I board my horses at a top-notch equestrian centre, and I’ve checked, and this is only happening to my daughter’s pony’s stall.
So here’s what’s going down!
I help the coach now and then to muck-out, and when I came to our pony’s stall, I noticed little black beetles… a giant SWARM of them along one wall and in little groups on the floor near the wall. The wall is the one facing the feed room, so that may be why.
Has anyone else had beetle problems in the stall? His stall is straw and its mucked out daily with bedding replaced when necessary. The floor is wooden. His stall is always very clean… is it only because the feed-room is behind that one wall? Are they just trying to get to the feed?
Any experience or opinions, leave an answer.

Do rove beetles eat dead rodents?

i know rove beetles such as the devils coach horse will eat all kinds of insects, but i saw something kind of odd today. it was 100 degrees outside and one of the voles in the yard died. found it on it’s back. there were two beetles trying to go up it’s nose, which was kind of funny because they were too big and kept getting stuck. i dont have a picture, but they look exactly like devil’s coach horses, only they are 1/8th of the size. i was wondering if they were a similar species?

i live near seattle washington

Tiny black bugs everywhere?

I have been noticing very, very tiny all black bugs in my bathroom and kitchen. there are usualy more than one…they look almost like a millipede or a centipede, but they have very small open pinchers on their rear end. it seems like they show up when it is wet outside, and they are usualy where water is. the last time i had them, some were a bit larger than the others and if you put something near them, they would raise their rear end like a scorpian, but then run away…. they dont have antennes and they dont bite, and they run away from things rather than getting defensive. this morning, i have also noticed a small hole that a few of them crawled into to get into my wall. if you have seen a Devil’s Coach Horse Beetle, they look like a tiny version of them….please help me identify this bug??

How do you get rid of Devil’s coach horse beetle’s?

I heard that they mainly are outside, which i can understand and perfectly fine with. But tonight my mom came into my room saying my dad found this weird bug he never seen before. we looked up the description under google “Black ant with stinger” and we got that as our result i looked up pictures of the devil’s coach horse beetle’s and it was a match…. I have searched all over google and can not find anything about how to get rid of them. So I come to you yahooers, how do I get rid of these little suckers????
