House Centipede

House-centipede
House centipedes feed on spiders, bedbugs, termites, cockroaches, silverfish, ants, and other household arthropods. They administer venom through modified legs. These are not part of their mandibles, so strictly speaking they sting rat controlher than bite. They are mostly nocturnal hunters. Despite their developed eyes they seem to rely mostly on their antennae when hunting. Their antennae are sensitive to both smells and tactile information. They use both their mandibles and their legs for holding prey. This way they can deal with several small insect controls at the same time. To capture prey they either jump onto it or use their legs in a technique described as “lassoing”

If you want to poison the centipedes, but you don?t want to poison the earth, yourself, or your pets, you can use natural pesticides like boric acid or food grade diatomaceous earth for continual centipede control. Products containing plant-derived pyrethrin will exterminate centipedes on contact, and can be used as a fog or spray.

Gigantic Bug Found In Mostly Basement Of House. What Is It?

There are these really large bugs in the basement of my house, and outside. The body is the size of a descent marble or bigger, they have long legs, like the length of daddy long legs, but the build of a cricket. They jump REALLY high, as well as walk really fast. Body is kind of darker color, maybe with some lighter spots. Can’t tell, they move too fast. Help with name and possibly picture. thanx

Can You Identify This Bug In My Basement?

I’m not even sure in fact it is a bug as they do not appear to be moving, but they are definitely multiplying.
They are in the storage space of our basement and only recently appeared there this past month (August in the North East). They are each about 1/2 an inch, dark brown and long like a worm, but they are all curled into a semi-circle. That is as close as I will get to them for you, but they are all over the floor of our basement and were not there the last time I went down there a month ago…At least 100 of them.
Any ideas?

I Encountered A Huge Bug In My Basement Tonight Called A Water Scavenger Beetle….i’m Scared There Is More?..?

This bug was huge, and hideous. It took a great bit of effort just to kill it. I think it climbed up out of my drain in the basement, but I’m not sure. I wish I knew for sure where he came from.. It was all alone when I found it, and I’ve never seen a bug like this in the 8 years that I lived here. I was wondering if I should be worried that more of these evil bugs may be lurking around me?….This thing was nasty, and I’m certain they must bite.

Bug Bomb In Basement?

I have a spider problem and I need to use a bug bomb in my basement. It’s a walkout basement with windows and a separat controle exterior door. I have the hot water heater and our oil tank down there. Our propane tank is normally outside, but we’re in the process of getting rid of propane altogether so we don’t have a tank right now, I guess the propane lines aren’t connected to anything. What do I need to do/shut off to safely use a bug bomb?

What To Do After Bug Bombing Basement?

Hello. I have a basement that my family uses merely as storage space and for no other purposes. Recently I decided to turn it into my own personal recreational space and took measure to clean up the place and bomb it of bugs. However now that its done, I realized that I rushed into doing this without removing some of the things that were being stored down there like old luggages and mattresses. What should I do to ensure the safety of my family members should they want to use the luggages or mattresses in the near future? All items were left uncovered. Also, when wiping down surfaces, should I include the walls as well? And what would be the best method to wipe off these surfaces?

Bug Problem In Basement!!!! Help!!!?
