how to get rid of carpet beetles for good?

They are everywhere!! Even in the washroom,,,, can you tell me what to do to get rid of them and to prevent them in the future?? i hate bugs so much!!! they are such dirty little things… but the ones in my house aren’t little at all …ughh can you tell me what to do? step by step? or do i need a pest control to handle this ??

My legs are all itchy, is it a mind over matter situation or is something really going on?

It hasn’t been a great year with insects in our house… We had bed bugs back in February, heck, we think we still have them. Last year around July we had fleas. We recently found a black carpet beetle on my wife’s robe. And the kids keep letting flies and mosquito in the house through the sliding glass door…

Last year we used a bug bomb/fogger in every room of the house (including the basement), we let it run for about 4 hours (as suggested on the can). We got rid of the fleas and put cheap flea collars on the cats. I also gave the cats a bath using a seargant’s flea and tick shampoo.

In February, we had Orkin come out and treat our home. After a month and a half of having our house upside down, we’ve moved all of our stuff back to their original places after inspecting it the best we could. Orkin has had to come out 2 more times since then because we found one in our bedroom… Recently, my wife was bit 3 consecutive nights but we’re not sure where he/they are hiding because we physically haven’t seen one… The mattresses are in encasement covers, the mattress is in one provided by Orkin which feels cottony and is fitted where as the box spring is in a paper one from Walmart (which sucks because it keeps ripping).

The black carpet beetles have been an issue since we got carpet at the beginning of 2009. We read they weren’t hazardous to people, only linens and carpet so since we didn’t have the money, we never took care of it. When Orkin was here, they found out that they were in our couch and in the carpet along the walls but everything was dead. They treated the house for general pest control but this was before my wife found an adult female on her robe after she got out of the shower (which we’re not sure how she got there).

My question is this: My body is extremely itchy, primarily my legs but just about everywhere will have a sudden itch. I don’t have any bite marks on me but that doesn’t mean that I’m not getting bit because I read that people respond differently to bites. My wife swells up like a golf ball but me, I only get hives or have a pin point red dot and with me being a man and all I’m kind of hairy so I don’t see all my red dots.

Help!!!

Please help! I have carpet beetles in my room and my parents won’t get pest control?!?

My parents have seen some of the bugs, but they don’t take me too seriously. They force me to sleep in the bed even though sometimes they have crawled on me while I slept, one morning I woke up to seeing them on my skin, eew! My parents didn’t believe me but they later found out. I moved into the spare room for some time but now my auntie is coming to stay round for 2 MONTHS! I am being forced to sleep in my room and I am sure they are still there! I also saw all this white stuff on my silk duvet and I wonder if they are larvae? My parents also won’t call pest control, I basically can’t do anything! I have always been afraid of and hated bugs but I am being forced to sleep in my bedroom full of them. Helppp me please :(

I have a weird rash.?

About a week ago, I got a bunch of little red, spots on my arms. They itch and look like bites, so much so that I got pest control to inspect my apartment for bed bugs. They found carpet beetles and extensively fumigated my apartment, but no bed bugs. I went to the doctor and she said because they are only on my arms, she thinks it was probably an allergic reaction to something, but I haven’t changed anything in my routine, or got anything new, except a kitten (we already have one cat). She gave me something for itching and sent me home. Nothing new, but the spots grew bigger, scabbed over, then peeled and are now extremely red and almost perfectly round. I got ten new spots overnight last night and went back to the student health center. No one there knows what this is. There are about forty spots overall and all are only on the under side of my forearms. Help!

Dead carpet beetles help?

I guess I hadn’t moved my furniture around in my bedroom and I found loads of carpet beetles. They are circular in shape, black with some white markings and were unmoving. So my question is whether they are really dead (therefore my landlord is following through with monthly pest control) or are they in some sort of life stage that makes them appear dead before transforming in a worse pest to deal with.
So are the ones i’m founding dead because of pest control or do adults rapidly die? I need to figure out if I need extra fumigation than what i’ve been getting. I am a graduate student living in a one bed apt in Florida and have no idea if I have a problem or its just typical this time of year.
